π A Week in the Life of the Riverside Beat Team π Hereβs a snapshot of some of the work carried out by your Riverside officers this week: β
Proactive policing at Castle Gardens Officers arrested a male after witnessing him attempting to complete a drug deal. He was found in possession of Class A drugs and an extendable baton. He has since been charged and remanded to court for: Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place Possession of criminal property β
Specialist skills training PC Fabian has refreshed his method of entry training β a vital skill that allows officers to enter secured premises quickly and safely when needed. β
Supporting emergency services π PCSOs assisted the Air Ambulance at Nelson Mandela Park, ensuring a safe and clear landing area β a crucial role in emergency response. β
Partnership work in the community PC Jess (DMU officer) joined partners from the Serious Violence Team, Designing Out Crime, and Leicester City Council for a patch walk around Castle Gardens β working together to improve safety and tackle local concerns. β
Engaging with young people PCSOs Haf and V visited Project SEARCH, supporting young adults with learning disabilities and strengthening positive community relationships. β
Targeted enforcement β Op Eye Spy Officers carried out activity in the city centre focusing on those causing the most harm β particularly individuals exploiting young people into drug dealing and criminality. β
Student engagement π Officers also attended De Montfort University, speaking directly with students to understand and address any issues or concerns they may have. π¬ We remain committed to being visible, proactive, and working alongside our communities and partners to keep Leicester safe.
